Let's get together
When you visit Mt. View, please take some time
to enjoy the fun activities we offer.
U-picking
Bring your own boxes or grab some of ours, and fill them with fresh, ripe fruit picked right off our trees. We have rows and rows of peach, apple, and pear trees designated just for u-picking, and we offer them at a discounted rate per pound.
Picnics
What’s better after an hour of picking fruit than spreading out a blanket under the trees and feasting on a picnic? We have plenty of quiet spots on our 50 acres for you to claim.
Photography
Our view of Mt. Hood is so spectacular that we named our farm for it. Feel free to bring your camera and capture our view in all its glory.
Hayrides
On Saturdays in October everyone can fit on our tractor wagon and take a jolly ride through the orchard. Children will love stopping to visit the farm animals, especially Carlos the Steer!
Pumpkin Patch
The Mt. View Orchard pumpkin patch is a huge attraction every fall. Let the harvest fun and games begin!
Carlos the Steer
Pick up your Carlos the Steer t-shirts, hats and sweatshirts at the Fruit Stand!
Events
The Fruit Stand hosts several events throughout the
harvest season, including:
Harvest Fest Weekend
The entire Hood River Valley celebrates the Harvest Fest each fall, and Mt. View is the place to join the party. Every year we bake our famous apple sauce cinnamon rolls and put out samples of over 20 varieties of our homemade apple or pear sauces. We also make delicious apple and pear pies, nutty and gooey Swiss pear bars, and vanilla and chocolate pear fudge. There’s something sweet for everyone!
Swiss-Edelweiss Day
At Mt. View, the fourth Saturday in October is dedicated to honoring our family’s Swiss heritage. We serve a full Swiss meal to our guests, featuring wurst (sausage), homemade sauerkraut, grilled onions and apple strudel. Swiss accordion music and yodeling serenade the crowd, and everyone joins in when it’s time to sing “Edelweiss!” You don’t want to miss this party.
Farm-to-Table Dinners
Throughout the harvest season we will be hosting a series of farm-to-table dinners featuring the best of local produce, beer, wine, cider, and more. We always try to make sure the weather cooperates so we can set up our farm table outside under the trees!
Weddings
We are now available to host your wedding day, see here for more information on our wedding venue.
